Kahkow Experience: Chocolate Museum

An attraction aimed at discovering the culture of chocolate in the Dominican Republic.

At Kahkow Experience, tourists and locals can experience the cocoa bean’s life cycle interactively. Kahkow Experience brings visitors to every step of the chocolate manufacturing process, from harvest to fermentation and drying. The tour includes the history of cocoa in its Holographic Theatre, walking through a beautiful simulated cocoa forest towards the Sensorial Lounge where you can interact with all the ingredients that make up the gourmet organic chocolate Kahkow and of course enjoy a tasting during the tour.

In addition, visitors can participate in workshops where they have the opportunity to see the complete process of making chocolate using traditional production machines and can also learn how to make soaps based on the cocoa butter.

The experience is part of a 10,000-square-foot attraction that is located on the oldest named street in the New World and is the fiftieth oldest house in Santo Domingo.

Kahkow Experience should definitely be on your list of places to visit during your stay in the Colonial Zone. Don’t forget to stop at the Kahkow Bar where you can find a wide variety of organic gourmet chocolates, cocoa powder, cocoa tea, gluten-free chocolate products and other freshly made chocolate delicacies such as hot chocolate.

To make the most of this experience on our plantations, ask for the Cocoa Trail located in San Francisco de Macoris where it all began!

Open every day from 10am/7pm
Calle Las Damas no.102, Ciudad Colonial, Santo Domingo.
